Acharya Sangpo Tsering
Sangpo Tsering Lama was born in a very remote place called Nar Manang in Nepal. His parents were uneducated and they were nomads. His father, Sangma Tashi Lama, usually travelled with yaks, sheep, goats, and cows. His mother, Piitar Parkyo Lama, used to help his father in the fields and lived a very simple style. He was born in a Buddhist family with four brothers and three sisters. When he was young, his parents sent him to Thrangu Monastery to study Buddhism. They believed that without education and knowledge, life is hard for people. He became a novice monk in 1993. He studied hard at the Monastery and learned how to speak, read, and write Tibetan. In 1994, senior monks sent him to Shree Mangal Dvip High School for Modern Studies. There he learned about science, math, and English. In 1998, Rinpoche asked him to finish school.
In 2000, Sangpo Tsering Lama attended the Vajra Vidhya Institute to receive higher Buddhist education where he studied for almost 7 years. After that, Rinpoche asked him to serve as Food Manager. Each morning for 2 years he acquired groceries and managed the food services whilst working with very helpful and cooperative staff. In 2010, Rinpoche asked Lama to go to Canada to serve the Canadian Sangha. He is really happy to be here in Canada.
Acharya Karma Tsundu
Karma Tsundue was born in 1984 in Nepal. He entered the monastery when he was 10 years old. He wanted to become a monk because he liked the way that monks followed the Buddhist tradition. After entered the monastery, Karma Tsundue start learning how to read and write Tibetan since all Buddhist text and instructions are based on Tibetan. He also learn how to perform rituals according to Tibetan Buddhist Tradition.
In 2000, he wanted to approach higher studies and so joined the Vajra Vidya Institute (the Institute for Higher Tibetan Buddhist Studies) located behind Deer Park in Sarnath, India, where Shakyamuni Buddha gave his first teaching. He graduated in 2005 from the Vajra Vidya Institute. He then served as a tutor in the institute for one year. In 2007 he went to Namo Buddha in Nepal to be a teacher in Shree Mangal Dvip Branch school (SMDB School). SMDB is a school for young monks and he taught there for 5 years.
He arrived in Canada on July 4th, 2012 to serve the community of Thrangu Monastry.
Acharya Tsering Pasang
Tsering Pasang Lama was born in Nepal. He became a monk in 1996 at Thrangu Tashi Choling Monastery, located close to and facing the Great Stupa of Boudhanath, Kathmandu, Nepal. Since becoming a monk he learned the Tibetan language as well as Tibetan Buddhist rituals. In 2000, he joined the monastic college for highest buddhist philosophy and five fundamental text at Vajra Vidya Institute in India. He graduated in the 2007. Following graduation he has continually provided service at different Thrangu Monastery locations in different roles.
Currently he serves as Shrine Master at Thrangu Monastery Canada.
