The supreme master, Gampopa, was a stainless model of monastic discipline and practice. He turned the wheel of dharma as an exemplary lineage holder. The incomparable Gampopa once declared to his disciples, "In the future, those who are unable to see me will be able to read my writings such as A Precious Garland of the Supreme Path and The Jewel Ornament of Liberation. In so doing, there will be no difference from actually meeting me in person."
A Precious Garland of the Supreme Path details the journey encountered by the Three Kinds of Persons: Those with modest abilities, those with medium abilities and those with the highest abilities. It also includes teachings on the experience and realization of Mahamudra. Since the time of Gampopa, this manual for training the mind in the stages of the path has proven to be very beneficial and helpful for the hearing, contemplation and practice of the Dharma.
