Children and Youth Buddhist Learning Group
This Learning Group is for school-age students to give them an understanding of Buddhism. Students learn how to end their suffering by cutting out greed, hatred, and ignorance. The objective of learning is an understanding of the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.
- Buddha – To introduce “The Life Story of The Buddha” in such a way that they will be inspired to feel they can rely on his teachings and follow him as an example.
- Dharma – To encourage or awaken students to realize that the Dharma is truly unique, a precious gift to us. Conducive to personal and collective peace and happiness.
- Sangha – To enable students to understand the significance and role of the Sangha and to give them a basic knowledge of the monastic tradition, thus deepening their insight into Buddhism.
The Primary level introduces students to the basic teachings, culture, and symbols of Buddhism and the Secondary level focuses on Meditation skills and practice.
