Mahamudra can first be practised during of the concluding phase of a sadhana practice, especially through the approach of mixing your guru’s mind with your own. The practice of mixing your mind with the guru’s induces qualities that are characteristic of the guru’s mind to start manifesting in yourself. Therefore, Guru Yoga is an essential practice for us to obtain the accomplishments of our forefathers. Marpa Lotsawa (Marpa the Translator) was a Tibetan Buddhist teacher distinguished by his pilgrimages to India where he studied with renowned Indian Buddhist masters. He was able to bring back to Tibet the full transmission of many Vajrayana teachings. This year, Thrangu Monastery Canada will be holding the Guru Yoga practice of Marpa. Through this practice, may our minds become the Dharma to benefit all sentient beings.
