Avalokiteshvara Meditation Retreat and One Million Mantra Accumulation from May 11 to May 13

Please join us for a wonderful 3-day retreat focused on Avalokiteshvara, beginning on Friday, May 11th, and concluding on Sunday, May 13th. During this retreat, participants will join together to accumulate one million Avalokiteshvara mantras. A short introductory teaching on the practice will be given each day.

What are the benefits of practicing the Avalokiteshvara sadhana?

Avalokiteshvara (Tibetan: Chenrezig) is renowned as the Bodhisattva of Compassion. He is the embodiment of the compassion of all the Buddhas. Meditating on Avalokiteshvara transforms deluded energy into the enlightened energy of discriminating awareness wisdom and the clear-seeing warmth of true loving compassion. Ego’s selfish demands yield to our deepening commitment to the well-being and enlightenment of others.

To generate the bodhichitta is so precious,
May those without it now create it.
May those who have it not destroy it, and
May it ever grow and flourish.

All beings, without exception seek happiness; no one wants to suffer. The practice of Avalokiteshvara reminds us to recall the practice of Compassion and to extend it.

Please join us to recite the Avalokiteshvara mantra here or at home and add to the accumulations by emailing your daily totals to rabjor@thrangumonastery.org or calling 778-297-6010. Offerings are also always welcomed.

We are always happy to receive your calls and emails during these auspicious events.
