The enormous earthquake that happened in Nepal on April 25, 2015 killed thousands of people and left thousands more injured and homeless. Fortunately, Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche, his monks, nuns and students are safe, but throughout Nepal, survivors are living among debris. Villages in Tsum, Nubri and Manang all experienced tremendous damage. Many of the country’s residents are sleeping outside for safety due to the danger from aftershocks. Because is now Monsoon season in Nepal, hardships will continue to mount. The heavy rains will be hard for those living outside and the rains can lead to landslides.
The cost and time needed to repair the country’s damaged infrastructure has yet to be determined. Funds will be needed for rescue efforts, food, drink, medical treatment, housing, and repairs. Your support will be invaluable.
